All Beginnings lead to an end.

All Beginnings lead to an end.

23 Dec 2025    Why US?

Looking back on the last year, I realize it has largely been a year of waiting for things to end.
Waiting for our son to be born.
Waiting for our house to be finished.
Waiting to see… what’s next.

This week, I wanted to write about how endings can lead to incredible new beginnings.

About ten months ago, I was talking with my wife, Brenda, about getting my real estate license. It wasn’t the first time I’d said it—I’d mentioned it several times over the past year. Each time, there seemed to be a reason it didn’t make sense. One moment it was being too busy at work to take the class. Another time, it was fear—fear of taking on risk, starting something new, and not knowing if we could afford it if I didn’t succeed.

Then came Friday, February 7th.

I brought it up again, and without hesitation, Brenda said, “Just do it.”

So I did.

I signed up for a class starting the following Monday. I took the week off work and committed fully—doing whatever it took to make this dream a reality. What made it even more intense was that Brenda was due early in March, and we didn’t know if our son might arrive early. I knew I had to move fast. I needed to finish the class and pass the test as soon as possible.

After completing the course, I took the first available exam—even if that meant driving all the way to Gaylord, Michigan. The goal was simple: get it done before our son arrived. Thankfully, I passed on the first try.

From there, I was ready to get to work with The King Team at Berkshire Hathaway.

I learned about the King Team through my former realtor, Lydia Dice, who had long encouraged me to become an agent. I trusted her guidance and followed where she was. I knew I didn’t have the time—or desire—to sit in massive classes where I couldn’t ask questions or where no one really knew who I was. I wanted to be part of something personal, intentional, and growth-focused. That’s exactly what the King Team provided.

Looking back, I truly could not have made a better decision. They trained me in ways most people don’t get trained. They taught me the things about real estate you don’t see from the outside. I will always be grateful for the foundation they gave me.

But as with most things in life—every beginning eventually has an ending.

Once I made the decision to pursue real estate and TZ Property Management full-time, I had to take a step back and evaluate what was best for my future. That meant looking at everything: pay structures, office dynamics, buyer programs, long-term vision, and overall alignment.

After considering all of my options, one brokerage clearly stood apart: JH Realty Partners.

So what made the difference?

I wanted to work with people who would make me better. People who shared a similar vision for life, business, and service. And I wanted to align myself with a brand that actively looks for solutions that put clients first.

For example, JH Realty’s Buy First, Sell Later program allows buyers to make non-contingent offers—something that can truly be the difference between winning a dream home or missing out.

They also offer a Refresh Program, where JH covers the cost of strategic home improvements upfront—knowing those updates can help sellers net more money. The cost is simply paid back at closing. These are programs built with the client in mind, and that matters to me.

Ultimately, I believe I’ve found a place that allows me to serve my clients at the highest level—helping them achieve their goals, chase their dreams, and finally buy the home they’ve been working toward for years.

So yes, most things eventually come to an end. But new beginnings—when embraced fully—can grow into something that truly changes who you are and who you surround yourself with.

Best,
Cody
